History

The origins of the farm date back to 1991, when shortly after the Velvet Revolution Karel Dittrich and his family decided to start their own farm.

It started from nothing, literally on a green field, with minimal machinery and facilities. The family farmed 20 hectares and gradually managed to grow the farm by renting land.

Until 1993, the hops were picked by hand for two more years before the first hop picking machine was acquired and built. In 1995, the farm got its first hop picker and the following year a second one. From 1993 onwards, as the farm grew, the first employees were recruited, and the number of employees gradually increased, reaching 8 in 2000.

In 2005, the neighbouring area of the Lenešický Chateau became part of the farm, which created space for the construction of new facilities for employees, changing rooms, a workshop, a warehouse and an office. The chateau also became a venue for cultural and corporate events. The hand picking, the following tour of the farm and the gathering in the chateau have already been used by e.g. Pilsner Urquell, Gambrinus and other companies.

The hop-growing area was also increased from the original 1.8 hectares to 45 hectares by 1998. Approximately the same area of hops has been maintained to the present day, of which 32 hectares have been restored over the years and new hops have been built on the site.

Currently, the farm is run by family members and permanent employees. During seasonal work, they are supported by temporary workers from the family, the municipality of Lenešice, the surrounding area and abroad.
